My early comic work

My mother found this piece that I did when I was eleven years old, in which I tell the worst joke ever...

I didn't know that I was drawing chickens back then too!

wow--thats a really bad joke- but the art shows an amazing consistency (especially for an 11 year old)!
When are you going to quit your dayjob and start work with Fantagraphics?

Thank you Andy!In 4th grade we had to adapt the most boring novel ever, "The Red Badge of Courage," into a comic. I wish I could find what I did for that. I seem to recall that I tried to make it funny, a la slapstick parody. You know, battle scenes complete with shot-off arms flying through the air, etc. Oy.

That joke was worthy of the Prairie Home Companion Joke Book :-)
