All the Leaves...

They'll soon be gone...what with all the hurricanes we're having in New England (((sniff))). They sure were extra brilliant this year. So many shades of red, orange, and yellow. Some were almost pink (like a saturated salmon-y color). These are some that I picked on a recent walk... 

Late Summer

It's Fall I know... but my summer flowers are still going strong! This sole purple one bloomed a couple of weeks ago. We had many of them in early summer but this one procrastinated til now... 

It's still summer and I can prove it..

Zinnias! Zinnias are one of my favorite flowers because they bloom in late summer and all through September. Also they are very easy to grow. Back in May or June, I opened a packet of zinnia seeds and sprinkled them into the ground in a spasticated fashion, then watered the area daily, and now they are about 3 feet tall! I love that they are so bright and cheery and they look like cartoon flowers. 

This batch of seeds produced mainly deep fuschia flowers

 But here's a lone light red one!

Stars of Summer

I love flowers! They're one of my favorite things about my favorite season. These are some shots I took on recent walks in Maine and around my neighborhood in central Mass.  

It's Spring! ... (on my mantle) ...

This always helps...

Whatever happens outside, it's always summer inside my house.

Denial...

As of yesterday, we're buried in snow here in New England. But this is what it still looks like in my mind... I took these photos on a walk in my neighborhood about a week ago. I'm going to remain in denial for as long as I can.
