But of course...

Put on your white gloves and get ready to indulge in the refined flavor of Circus Peanuts! I actually tried them for the first time this weekend. It was a very formal affair, as you can see.
I've always been curious about Circus Peanuts. Something about the color and the faux peanut shape appeals to me. And since childhood I've wanted to eat something the size and texture of an eraser. The texture did not disappoint; it was exactly what I was looking for. And although I would eat them again, the flavor was not what I was expecting. They were a tad too sweet and not at all peanut-flavored. I was hoping for something akin to Cap'n Crunch or a Clark bar.

YAY!!! Though I hated circus peanuts as a kid, but still ate them whenever they were offered....they were still candy after all. They came in a huge bag and they tasted like perfumed sugar with the consistency of a very dense, waxy marzipan. Not sure I would eat one again if offered. They are somewhat nostalgic, but not a good going to the beach in your volkswagon bus listening to the Beach Boys in the summer of '76 kind of nostalgic. ... more like the Autumn of 1980 listening to a Bread Album on a Sunday night knowing you have a huge book report due and praying Polaris on your forehead goes away before tomorrows school picture, kind of nostalgic. ;-)

They are the only food that tastes like Orange. Not an Orange mind you, just the color Orange. Be warned, more than four and you'll be facing a stomach ache the likes of which you can't comprehend.

Ha ha Tammy! A Bread album on a Sun nite in 1980... and the '60 Minutes' stopwatch ticking in the background, marking every horrible second spent in this hell.

Andy - I believe it. They probably reconstitute back into the peanut shape in your stomach and then expand like a sponge to 4x original size.

Mary I know - GIMME. :)
