Should I turn myself in?

I marked the end that you're not supposed to. So I feel compelled to turn myself in to the International U-Haul High Court. I mean, eventually they're going to find out.

New Button Line - Hot Donut Salad

My book 'Hot Donut Salad' will drop soon so I was thinking of designing some buttons that I'll give away to the first 67,483 people or whatever that buy the book. Here's the first design. You like? I have to admit that my motivation for making these buttons is somewhat selfish. For the past several years I've really neglected my own personal button needs, so now I'm in desperate need of a button makeover. All of my buttons are so 2005. Yours are too probably. Admit it.

Survey - Which of these do you most want to smash?

These Russ Bernie figurines from the 1970's make me want to gag. I think they were supposed to reassure you that it's OK to be a total loser. Aren't they hideous? Was it a conscious design decision to make all the adults look drunk and the children look stoned and possessed?

Anyway, please vote on which one you'd most like to smash. Using voting buttons at top right.

The Hunger Games vs. Little House on the Prairie

My good friend's 9 year old daughter really wants to read the Hunger Games. But my friend won't let her read it until she herself reads it because apparently it's disturbing. This presents a quandry for my friend because she really doesn't like some of the basic premises of the book, for example that it takes place in a post-apocalyptic United States that's been chopped up and recycled into smaller nation-state entities. So I was like, what's the big deal. When we were young we read the Little House on the Prairie books and those are post-apocalyptic too. If you're Native American. Which I'm not but still.

Decroded Piece of Crap

My internet modem recently bit the dust because it was a decroded piece of crap. But Verizon just sent me a new one so now I'm back on the interweb.

Weird Futuristicky Stuff

If I were in NYC, I'd see this exhibit.
Kraftwerk – Retrospective at MOMA
A presentation of Kraftwerk’s historical audio and visual material is on view at MoMA PS1, April 12–May 14, 2012.
This video is really creepy and awesome:

I love bizarre-o depictions of the future as seen from the past, where everyone is all robotic and speaking in quasi-electronic voices. It reminds me of the book Future Shock. I love how the font screams, "I'm terrified of how electronicky and computerized, yet oddly 70's-ish the future is going to be."
A documentary based on Future Shock came out in 1972 and features Orson Welles as the narrator. You can watch it here. It's creepy and hilarious. Enjoy!
Futuristically and robotically yours,
ME.

Inspiration - Lilac and Butterscotch

Lilacs bloomed so early this year. So I put some in my kitchen and noticed how much I liked the lilac color next to the butterscotch-colored plastic onion container (that I actually use to store open cans of wet cat food in).
